Nitya
About Nitya
Nitya is a quiet place to recite and understand Hindu devotional texts, in your own language and script.
Why we exist
Many families outside India, and plenty inside it, grew up hearing the Hanuman Chalisa or Om Jai Jagdish Hare without being able to read the script it is printed in. Nitya gives you every verse in the script you read (Roman, Devanagari, Telugu, Tamil and more) with a plain meaning beside it. You can recite and also know what you are saying.
Who it's for
Anyone who prays daily and wants to know what the words mean. Children learning a chalisa from their grandparents. Families abroad keeping up the evening aarti. People coming back to these texts after many years.
How we're different
- Every text in your script. Each text is stored once in Devanagari and shown in Roman, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali or IAST. Nothing is retyped, so no new typos creep in.
- A meaning beside every verse, in English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
- Made for daily recitation: large adjustable text, a night mode for early mornings, a counter for repetitions, and pages that keep working offline once you have opened them.
- Calm and fast. No clutter, no autoplay, nothing jumping around the page while you read.
What we will never do
- Put ads between the lines of a prayer, or show pop-ups.
- Invent reviews, ratings, user numbers or expert endorsements.
- Ask you to sign up or collect your personal data. Your settings, streak and counts stay on your device.
- Publish a modern translation we don't have the right to. We use only traditional, public-domain texts and write our own meanings.
- Promise results. When we mention benefits, we say what tradition holds. We make no guarantees and no medical claims.
