Om Jai Jagdish Hare
ॐ जय जगदीश हरे
Om Jai Jagdish Hare is one of the best-known Hindu aartis, a Hindi hymn to Lord Vishnu as Jagdish, "Lord of the universe", written by Pandit Shardha Ram Phillauri of Punjab around 1870. It has a refrain and seven stanzas asking Vishnu to remove sorrow, forgive our faults and increase our faith. Many families close their puja or Satyanarayan katha with it, in India and across the diaspora.

Tradition sees "Shraddha" here as the poet's gentle signature, since his name was Shardha (Shraddha) Ram. Many families add a closing couplet, "Tan man dhan sab kuchh hai tera, tera tujhko arpan, kya laage mera", which is a later addition and not part of Phillauri's text. Some prints also add a "Kahat Shivanand Swami" stanza borrowed from the Shiva aarti.

Questions
Who wrote Om Jai Jagdish Hare?
Pandit Shardha Ram Phillauri (1837–1881), around 1870. He came from Phillaur, near Ludhiana in Punjab, and was a scholar of Sanskrit, Hindi and Punjabi and an early Hindi prose writer. Many see the word "shraddha" in the last stanza as his signature.
Which god is Om Jai Jagdish Hare for?
Lord Vishnu, called Jagdish (Lord of the universe) and Hari (the one who takes away sorrow). Because its words are simple, people also sing it at the end of Lakshmi, Ganesh, Satyanarayan and many other pujas.
Is "Tan man dhan sab kuchh hai tera" part of the aarti?
No, it was added later. The couplet, meaning "body, mind and wealth are all yours; I offer yours to you", is widely sung at the end but is not in Phillauri's standard text. If your family sings it, carry on. We leave it out only so the original text stays clear.
How is the aarti performed at home?
Light a ghee diya or camphor on a plate and stand before the deity. Circle the plate clockwise while everyone sings, often with a bell and clapping, and repeat the refrain after each stanza. At the end, offer the flame to each person. They pass their palms over it and touch their eyes.
Source and review
Source: Traditional text of Pt. Shardha Ram Phillauri's aarti as given by drikpanchang.com "Shri Jagdish Ji Ki Aarti", cross-checked line by line with bhaktibharat.com "Om Jai Jagdish Hare Aarti"; authorship per hi.wikipedia.org "ॐ जय जगदीश हरे"
The two sources agree on the refrain and the seven stanzas; minor differences (बिनसे/विनसे, "दास जनों के संकट", "खल कामी"/"फलकामी", "ठाकुर"/"रक्षक") are recorded in the stanza notes. drikpanchang adds an eighth stanza "श्री जगदीशजी की आरती, जो कोई नर गावे। कहत शिवानन्द स्वामी, सुख संपत्ति पावे॥", which is borrowed from the Shiva aarti and is not part of Phillauri's text, so we omit it. The popular "तन मन धन" closing couplet is likewise a later addition.
