About Jai Ganesh Deva

Ganesh is worshipped first, so his aarti is often the first song a child learns and the first one sung at a family puja. People love "Jai Ganesh Deva" for its homely pictures: paan, flowers, dry fruit and laddoos offered with love, the little mouse he rides, the sindoor on his forehead. It also carries a simple faith that he helps those the world forgets: the blind, the sick, the childless and the poor.

Questions

Is this the same Jai Ganesh Deva that is sung in Hindi?

Yes. These are the same Hindi words, written in Gujarati letters so you can read them aloud. It is a transliteration, not a translation into Gujarati. The meaning of each verse is given in English.

How was the Gujarati text prepared?

We keep one checked Devanagari edition (Traditional Hindi aarti as given by drikpanchang.com "Shri Ganesh Ji Ki Aarti", cross-checked with prabhatkhabar.com (Anuradha Paudwal version) and bhaktilok.in) and write it in Gujarati letters with fixed spelling rules, so every verse matches the original letter for letter. The English-letter line is the common singing spelling.
