About Bajrang Baan

'Bajrang' is Hanuman, whose limbs are strong as the thunderbolt (vajra-anga), and 'baan' means arrow. The prayer is pictured as an arrow shot straight at the devotee's troubles. Its tone is different from the Hanuman Chalisa. The Bajrang Baan pleads urgently and very personally, and even reminds Hanuman of his oath to Shri Ram and Sita so that he will not delay.

Questions

Is this the same Bajrang Baan that is sung in Hindi?

Yes. These are the same Awadhi words, written in Punjabi letters so you can read them aloud. It is a transliteration, not a translation into Punjabi. The meaning of each verse is given in English.

How was the Punjabi text prepared?

We keep one checked Devanagari edition (Shri Bajrang Baan, standard printed text as given on hindi.webdunia.com and sritrimurtidham.org (both agree line for line), compared with sanskritdocuments.org (doc_z_otherlang_hindi/bajarangabaaNHindi) and hanumanbalajimandir.org) and write it in Punjabi letters with fixed spelling rules, so every verse matches the original letter for letter. The English-letter line is the common singing spelling.
