stotranidhi.com reads "अमूभिः" and "भाग्यभाजिनो"; sanskritdocuments.org reads "अमीभिः" and "भाग्यभागिनो". We take "अमूभिः", the feminine form that agrees with "स्तुतिभिः", and "भागिनो"; both bhagino and bhajino mean "sharers".

About Kanakadhara Stotram

The Shankara-vijaya stories tell that young Shankara, still a brahmachari, went to a poor brahmin home in his village of Kaladi for alms. The woman of the house had nothing to give except a single amla (gooseberry), which she offered with great shame and love. Moved, Shankara sang this hymn to Lakshmi, and tradition says a shower of golden amlas fell on the house. "Kanaka dhara" means "stream of gold".

Questions

Is this the same Kanakadhara Stotram that is sung in Hindi?

Yes. These are the same Sanskrit words, written in Malayalam letters so you can read them aloud. It is a transliteration, not a translation into Malayalam. The meaning of each verse is given in English.

How was the Malayalam text prepared?

We keep one checked Devanagari edition (Kanakadhara Stotram, sanskritdocuments.org kanaka.itx (encoded and proofread by P. P. Narayanaswami and Kirk Wortman; verse order as in the Complete Works of Shankaracharya, vol. 18, p. 70); cross-checked line by line with "Prabhata Stotranidhi" (stotranidhi.com, Devanagari)) and write it in Malayalam letters with fixed spelling rules, so every verse matches the original letter for letter. The English-letter line is the common singing spelling.
